After spring recess, as Chair of the Foundation for New Education Initiatives, Inc., I will host The Superintendent’s 5K Challenge – A Race for Education on Saturday, April 2, 2016, 7:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., at Museum Park, located at 1075 Biscayne Boulevard (downtown Miami).
I encourage employees and students to participate in this fun and healthy event. When you register to run/walk, you will be asked to choose a school or administrative site team and run on that team’s behalf. Schools will receive 80% of the funds raised by participants who selected to participate on their school’s team. All proceeds raised by administrative offices will fund District initiatives such as the Parent Academy, Cultural Passport, Project UP-START, and the purchase of portable electronic devices with Internet access for students.
Participants must register individually and must designate a team to represent. Participant fees are $30.00 (plus a $2.64 registration fee) for adults and $10.00 (plus a $1.54 registration fee) for students. After March 25, 2016, and on race day, participant fees will be slightly higher.
Register now through the Eventbrite website at: http://alturl.com/kik5p or scan the QR Code in the Superintendent’s 5K Challenge.

Draft Minutes for 1.19
Being a part of the iPrep PTSA Board is wonderful. There is a great group of parents, involved teachers and of course, wonderful kids. All that is missing is YOU!! Children love to see their parents involved, and it is a great way to meet other parents and also help the school.
The current board is also happy to explain duties and time-commitments as well. Once you feel you know which role suits your strengths, please fill out the Nomination Form2016 and drop it in the black PTSA box in the front office.
We really need a Treasurer who knows Quick Books- this is a VITAL role that we hope to fill. Each of the school areas needs a VP (Elementary, Middle and High School VP) to represent the interests for each student body. And the President needs a VP as well. The Communications Team is comprised of 2 people who help with communications and updates. We work together as a whole, closely with our esteemed Assistant Principals and of course, in partnership with the teachers and students. You can also volunteer for President, and help coordinate this wonderful team! It really is a great group.

“The Harold W.
